Shenandoah University baseball players Jaime Padilla and Liam Stewart were named D3baseball.com 2026 Preseason All-Americans earlier in the weekend, as announced by the publication.
Padilla and Stewart earned All-American honors at the end of the 2025 season by D3baseball.com, with Padilla also receiving the award from the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Padilla, a senior outfielder, led the Hornets with a .418 batting average in 2025 and accumulated five home runs, 42 RBI, drew 30 walks, and had 14 stolen bases. The outfielder had 19 multi-hit games in his 44 starts. Padilla also earned first-team honors for the ODAC, ABCA All-Region, and D3baseball.com All-Region.
Stewart, a sophomore pitcher, had a 2.03 ERA with a 3-1 record in 17 appearances last season. The righty pitched in 40 innings, punching out 55 batters, and holding opponents to a .149 batting average. Stewart also earned All-Region honors from ABCA and D3baseball.com, while also earning an All-ODAC First Team nod.
As a team, the Hornets won 28 games in 2025 and begin their 2026 season on February 14th with a home doubleheader versus Misericordia University.
