The Shenandoah University baseball program earned multiple all-region awards on Tuesday, with Jaime Padilla and Liam Stewart making the D3baseball.com All-Region VI team. Padilla and Stewart were also named all-region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), along with
JP Williams and
Carl Keenan.
Padilla, who was named a preseason All-American this year, earned All-Region First Team honors by D3baseball.com and ABCA. The outfielder started in all 49 games for the Hornets and hit .385. The Hornets' captain drove in 60 runs, scored 66 times, hit five home runs, and added 24 additional extra-base hits. In 19 games this season, Padilla provided a multi-hit outing, with a season-high four hits in three separate games.
Stewart, who was also named a preseason All-American, was named second team all-region by both organizations. The reliever had eight saves this season, including three in the ODAC Tournament. Stewart pitched 30.2 innings, had 35 strikeouts, and only issued four walks. He held opponents to a .233 batting average and had a 2.35 ERA in 16 appearances.
Williams, in his first season at SU after transferring, caught 46 games with 44 starts. The junior hit .352 at the plate with five home runs, 49 RBI, and 56 hits. Behind the plate, he had a .987 fielding percentage, 270 putouts, 30 assists, and caught 16 runners stealing.
Kennan, the Hornets' primary second baseman, led the team with a .399 batting average, while starting in all 49 games. He had a team-high 77 hits, added 13 doubles, three triples, and five home runs. Additionally, he was able to draw 36 walks and had 48 RBI.
The Hornets won the 2026 ODAC Championship and hosted NCAA Regionals for the third time in five years. The team finished with a 37-12 record.
D3baseball.com releases its All-America teams tomorrow, while ABCA announces theirs on Thursday.
