NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Preview: Bernard Set for 400m

LA CROSSE, Wi. - Roman Bernard represents the Shenandoah University track and field team today at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

The first year competes at 6:05 p.m. EST in the prelims of the 400m, with the chance to move on to Saturday's finals. The sprinter is the first SU student-athlete to qualify for nationals in the 400m and is the program's first-ever first-year to qualify in an open event.

There are three heats for the prelims. The winner of each heat, plus the next six best finishers, will move on to the finals. The overall top 16 will be marked as All-Americans in the event.
