Plowman Moves to Full-Time Role with Cross Country and Track and Field Programs

WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University head cross country and track and field coach Andrew Marrocco has announced the hiring of Mackenzie Plowman as a full-time assistant coach.

Plowman competed for the Hornets' women's cross country and track and field teams from 2020-25 and served as a graduate assistant coach during the 2025-26 season.

This past year as a graduate assistant, Plowman helped coach distance events from the 400 meters and up, relays, and cross country, while also serving as the lead coach for javelin.

During her time as an SU student-athlete, the middle-distance runner earned five All-ODAC honors in indoor track and field. Plowman claimed four All-ODAC awards as part of the distance medley relay (DMR) and one in the 4x400-meter relay in 2024.

Additionally, Plowman ranks in the top 10 all-time for the Hornets in the 300 meters (indoor), 500 meters (indoor), 800 meters (indoor and outdoor), mile (outdoor), and javelin (outdoor). Her indoor 800-meter time of 2:21.00 currently stands as the school record.
