Bernard Places 19th at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wi. - Shenandoah University track and field sprinter Roman Bernard placed 19th in the men's 400m of the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

The first-year, running in heat one, finished in 48.28 on the national stage, capping off his rookie year.

Bernard was the first Hornet since 2024 to compete at outdoor nationals and the first ever to run in the 400m at this level. 

Outside of qualifying for nationals, Bernard's outdoor rookie campaign was highlighted by USTFCCCA All-Region and All-ODAC honors, while also breaking the program record in the 400m.
