Men's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight in Spring Break Finale

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team won its fifth straight match on Friday morning with a 6-1 non-conference win over Berry College. The match was orignally slated for Thursday night at 5 p.m.

The Hornets (5-3) started the morning with two wins in doubles to win the team point. Shine Tokas and Lucas Beasley defeated the Vikings' (2-5) duo at No. 2, 6-4. Aryanth Chintharlapalli and Dominick Suwak earned their fourth win of the week with a 6-1 victory at No. 3.

Suwak remained undefeated in singles with a 7-5, 6-1 win at the top singles spot, followed by straight-set wins by Siddharrth Rajagopalan and Artem Babaiev. Rajagopalan won his match at No. 5 6-4, 6-2, while Babaiev found himself in the win column with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4.

The Hornets won two singles matches in three sets. At No. 2, Tokas won 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3). Lucas Beasley downed the Vikings at No. 3 with a comeback win, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6).

UP NEXT

The Hornets begin ODAC competition next week with a road match at Randolph-Macon College on Friday at 3 p.m.
