Gaskins Lands ODAC Pitcher of the Week

FOREST, Va. - Shenandoah University softball pitcher Meghan Gaskins has been named ODAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday for the first time in her career.

The junior started in two games, had three appearances, with a 0.50 ERA. Her two starts were both complete games, including a solo no-hitter. The right-handed pitcher also struck out 15 batters in 14.0 innings pitched.

The solo no-hitter came against Wheaton College on Monday in a 4-0 win for the Hornets. In the seven inning win, Gaskins punched out seven batters and didn't allow a base runner until the seventh inning. The no-hitter was the first for the Hornets since 2022.

Following the no-hitter, Gaskins pitched a five inning complete game shutout against Emerson, striking out five. Gaskins then pitched the final two innings of an 8-7 walkoff win for the Hornets versus Baldwin Wallace University.

Gaskins is currently 4-0 on the year with a 0.67 ERA, 19 strikeouts, and only 13 hits allowed in 21 innings.

The Hornets open ODAC play this Thursday at home versus Randolph-Macon. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
