Women's Golf Finishes 16th at Stith Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's golf team placed 16th at The Stith Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon, with a team score of 1110 (+246) for the three-round tournament at The Dominion Club.

The Hornets shot a 371 (+84) for their final round, with Cierra Bigelow leading the way on Tuesday. Bigelow carded an 88 (+16), giving her a three-round score of 287 (+71), highlighted by a birdie on hole two today, along with eight pars.

Overall, Gaby Frick finished with the lowest score for SU with a 275 (59), placing her tied for 76th. Frick scored a 97 (+25) on Tuesday, with three pars.

Erica Laurentino recorded a 95 (+23) for her final round, helping her finish in 79th. The first-year had five pars on Tuesday with a three-round total score of 278 (+62).

Sophia Hansen came in next for the Hornets in 80th with a 54-hole total of 279 (+65). For her final 18 holes of the tournament, she carded a 91 (+19). 

Coming in 84th, Carley Westmoreland closed out the tournament for the Hornets with a total score of 294 (+78). Westmoreland had a 99 (+27) on Tuesday, which included a birdie on hole two.

Ten teams in the tournament ranked inside the top-50 in the country, with No. 3 NYU winning the three-round competition with a 879 (+15).
