Track and Field Competes in 800m and 5,000m at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Shenandoah University outdoor track and field teams competed in their third event of the week, with a trip to the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University on Saturday.

The Hornets saw action in the men's and women's 800m, along with the 5,000m events on Saturday.

For the men's 800m, Kyle Corpin ran a personal best of 1:57.51, which places him fourth all-time for the program. Nathan Lee ran a 1:59.87 in the same event. 157 athletes competed in the men's 800m.

On the women's side, in a 150-runner field, Grace Semow led the way for the Hornets with a 2:20.73. Amy Oleksy finished at 2:22.01, setting a new PR and moving into fifth all-time for the Hornets.

In the 5,000m, Maddy Chorney represented the SU women. Chorney finished the distance race at 19:00.06. Will Ashley ran a 16:03.21 for the best finish out of the SU men, while Brayden Shotwell completed the event in 16:31.60.

UP NEXT

Mekhi Mims competes in the high jump tomorrow at Bucknell, with Oleksy, Semow Corpin, and Lee racing in the one-mile races. Additionally, Wyatt Newcome runs in the 400m.
