Men's Golf Remains in Sixth at ODAC Championship

AMHERST, Va. - The Shenandoah University golf team remains in sixth place at the 2026 ODAC Championship after round two at the par-72, 7,082-yard Poplar Grove Golf Course. Guilford College leads the way, with Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon rounding out the top three.

The Hornets scored a 313 (+25) on Monday, which is five strokes better than their opening round. Following 36 holes, SU has a total score of 631 (+55), which puts them two strokes behind fifth place Hampden-Sydney College.

Conor McCarthy led the way for the Hornets on Tuesday with a 75 (+3). His round started with an eagle and two birdies on the front nine, before making another birdie on hole 15. The eagle came on hole six, which is a 564-yard, par-five hole. The first-year is tied for 13th with a 155 (+11).

Caden Sherman moved up a pair of spots following his second round, as he is also in the tie for 13th. Sherman had a nearly flawless front nine, making eight pars. The final nine holes of his round were highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14, giving him a 76 (+4) on Monday.

Braden Hermansky comes in next for the Hornets in 20th with a two-round score of 159 (+15). On Monday, he recorded an 81 (+9). The first-year matched McCarthy with an eagle on hole six. Additionally, he added a birdie late in his round on hole 16.

Connor Christie matched Hermansky's second-round score and is now 35th with a 162 (+18). His score was helped out by a stretch of five straight pars or better on holes three through seven, which started with a birdie.

Dan Ailor rounds out the Hornets with his 164 (+20) following the first 36 holes. On Monday, the senior had three birdies and seven pars to give him an 82 (+10).

The Hornets conclude the championship tomorrow with the third round.
