Men's Golf Places Seventh at ODAC Championship; Ailor and Hermansky Earn All-ODAC

AMHERST, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's golf team concluded the 2026 ODAC Championship in seventh place with a three-round score of 938 (+74). The Hornets concluded the tournament with a 307 (+19) over their final 18 holes at Poplar Grove Golf Course.

Dan Ailor and Braden Hermansky were named All-ODAC Third Team as well, as announced by the league at the conclusion of the tournament. Ailor also took home the league's Ted Keller Sportsman of the Year award, the first Hornet to do so since Trevor Berg in 2023.

For the tournament, Conor McCarthy finished tied for fourth, which is the best individual finish by an SU golfer since 2016. The first-year moved up 11 spots on Tuesday with a 72 (E) round, highlighted by three birdies on the front nine. McCarthy shot a 227 (+11) for his three rounds.

Caden Sherman was in 19th at 233 (+17) for the championship. Sherman put a 78 (+6) on his scorecard on Tuesday, helped out by four birdies.

Braden Hermansky wrapped up his rookie campaign with a 75 (+3) showing on Tuesday. The first-year recovered from a double bogey with a birdie on the very next hole during round three. Hermansky finished the tournament with a 234 (+18).

Connor Christie shot an 82 (+10) on Tuesday, giving him 38th at the championship. Christie recorded a 244 (+28) for the weekend with one birdie on Tuesday.

Dan Ailor placed 46th with a 247 (+31). The senior shot an 83 (+11) for the third round with a birdie on holes 14 and 16.

Guilford won the team title with a 904 team score for the tournament. Washington and Lee's Joathan McEwen won the individual title at the competition.
