Men's Sprint Medley Relay Team Breaks Longest Standing Program Record

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University outdoor track and field teams had its sprint medley relay teams compete on Saturday at the 60th Annual Colonial Relays, hosted by the William and Mary.

The men's team, consisting of Wyatt Newcome, Roman Bernard, Nathan Lee, and Kyle Corpin broke the program's record with their time of 3:37.31. The previous program best was 3:39.19, which had stood since March 20, 2010, the longest standing program record. The Hornets' team today ran in heat two and placed sixth in the race.

The women's team of Ruth McGhee, Myah Powell-Utley, Amy Oleksy, and Grace Semow ran a 4:23.31, placing eighth on Saturday.

Overall this week, the Hornets as a whole broke one program record, set 12 personal records, had eight program all-time top-10 marks, and finished inside the top 10 of six events this weekend.

UP NEXT
The Hornets are sending student-athletes to compete at the University of Lynchburg, Eastern Mennonite University, and Bucknell next week.
