Track and Field Sends Six to Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. - The Shenandoah University outdoor track and field teams competed for the first time since the ODAC Championships with a trip to the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday.

The Hornets had six athletes at the meet on Monday, with Roman Bernard leading the way with a second-place finish, while Molly Donaldson and Zachary Sheehan also had top-10 finishes.

TRACK RECAP

Roman Bernard, in a push for the NCAA Championships, ran in the men's 400m and finished at 47.93. He placed fifth at the meet and is currently 21st in the NCAA for the 400m.

Amy Oleksy ran a 2:25.57 in the women's 800m, which gave her 50th in the race. Nathan Lee placed 66th in the men's 800m with his mark of 1:58.23.

FIELD RECAP

Molly Donaldson finished fifth in the women's shot put. The first-year hit 12.42m on her third throw of the day to give her fifth.

Zachary Sheehan finished inside the top 10 in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.12m. Grady Speer threw a 43.74m mark in the men's hammer, placing 13th in the event.
