WINCHESTER, Va. - Recent shooting woes continued for the Shenandoah University men's basketball team as it fell 74-46 to Dixie Conference co-leader Methodist College Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (8-8, 1-5) missed 14 of its first 15 shots as Methodist jumped out to a 17-5 lead by the 11:18 mark of the first.

SU was able to cut the Methodist (10-7, 6-0) lead to just four at 35-31 by halftime, but a 7-0 MC run to start the second sealed the hosts fate.

The 46 points scored represents the fourth time since the start of Dixie Conference play on January 15 that Shenandoah has failed to reach the 50 point plateau. Those four games are four of the five lowest scoring games in program history.

Senior Tyson Thompson (Keysville, Va./Randolph-Henry) provided a bright spot by scoring 18 of his game high 20 points in the first half. Junior Chad Breshears (Hagerstown, Md./St. Maria Goretti) added 13 to give the Hornets a second player in double figures.

Eugene Grant had 17 points off the bench to lead the Monarchs.
