WINCHESTER, Va. - Christopher Newport used big innings in each game of a Dixie Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon to sweep host Shenandoah 13-1 and 11-3.

CNU (6-3-1, 2-0) scored 12 runs in the third inning of game one and a combined eight innings in the second and third to key the two victories.

The Lady Captains banged out a combined 23 hits in the two games, including 14 in the lidlifter.

Jodi Milburn (Winchester, Va./James Wood) was 2 for 2 in game one for SU (0-5, 0-3) while Caroline Crocker (Stanardsville, Va./William Monroe) and Jen Jones (Radiant, Va./Madison County) had two hits and a run batted in apiece in the second contest.
