DANVILLE, Va. - The softball team remains winless on the season after losing 8-0 and 10-2 in a Dixie Conference doubleheader at Averett Monday afternoon.

SU (0-7, 0-4) was held to just one hit in game one; junior Jodi Milburn's (Winchester, Va./James Wood) third inning single prevented the Lady Cougars (8-5, 4-2) from throwing the no-hitter.

The Hornets bats came alive in game two as SU managed seven hits to the hosts eight. Unfortunately for Ellie Tanner's squad, four errors led to three unearned runs in the 10-2 loss.

Caroline Crocker (Stanardsville, Va./William Monroe), Nikki Braithwaite (Winchester, Va./James Wood) and Milburn all had two hits in the losing effort.
