STEPHENS CITY, Va. - The SU softball team used an 11 run first inning to key a 15-1 victory over Christendom College Wednesday afternoon.

Shenandoah (3-11) has now won three straight games since starting the season on an 11-game losing streak. This winning streak is the longest since the 1998 team won five of its first six, including four straight.

The Hornets wasted little time in dispatching the Crusaders (0-3); Coach Ellie Tanner's squad had eight of its first nine batters reach base safely and led 9-0 before CC recorded the second out of the inning.

Freshman Gina Riemenschneider (Winchester, Va./James Wood) picked up the win on the mound by striking out four against two walks in three innings of work. Riemenschneider took over after Caroline Crocker (Stanardsville, Va./William Monroe) recorded all six of the outs she needed in her two innings on the mound via strikeout.

Junior Jennifer Jones (Radiant, Va./Madison County) had a team high three hits in five at-bats. Eight of nine SU players got at least one hit.
