DOVER, Del. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team could not extend its winning streak Monday afternoon as the Hornets dropped their first Pennsylvania Athletic Conference game of the season, 19-7, at Wesley College.
Shenandoah (1-2 overall, 0-1 PAC) kept the game close early on by holding the Wolverines (1-2, 1-0) to five goals in the first quarter, but the Wesley offense would not be denied and rattled-off ten scores in the second period to take a 15-3 lead into the halftime locker room.
Despite having only one day to rest following the Hornets' Saturday afternoon triumph over Cazenovia, the SU attack remained consistent. Senior James Hernandez (Blue Ridge Summit, Penn./HCC) had his second straight hat trick and classmate Elmer Baker (Fort Montgomery, N.Y./O'Neill) added a pair of scores to go along with one assist.
The Wolverines called off the dogs in the second half and cruised to the 12 goal victory largely behind the firepower provided by Chris Miller's six goal, three assist performance.
