ASHLAND, Va. - Shenandoah University held a one-goal lead after 15 minutes Wednesday afternoon in its non-league men's lacrosse contest with Randolph-Macon, but the Yellow Jackets scored the only four goals of the second and pulled away for a 12-6 victory.

Shenandoah (1-3) got 24 saves from JD Killian (Stafford, Va./North Stafford), but a five goal run by R-MC (3-3) spelled doom for the Hornets upset chances.

After taking a 2-1 lead on an unassisted goal by Elmer Baker (Fort Montgomery, N.Y./O'Neill) with 25 seconds remaining in the first, the Hornets did not score again until just under nine minutes remained in the third. The Jackets scored five unanswered in that span and took a lead they would not relinquish.

Baker led his club with three goals while James Hernandez (Blue Ridge Summit, Pa./HCC) added two goals and an assist.

Complete statistics for this game will be available Thursday morning.

SU is up again on Saturday when it opens Pennsylvania Athletic Conference home action against Neumann College.
