RADNOR, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team got 20 saves from senior J.D. Killian (Stafford, Va./North Stafford), but Pennsylvania Athletic Conference leader Cabrini had too much in 20-2 PAC win Saturday afternoon.
Cabrini (10-2 overall, 4-0 PAC) officially eliminates Shenandoah (2-9, 1-4) from PAC Tournament consideration with the loss. SU had to defeat the No. 18 in the nation Cavs Saturday, get a win over Alvernia next week and hope that Misericordia would lose its three remaining PAC contests in order to get into the four-team tournament.
With the Hornets loss at Cabrini, the tournament field is now set with Cabrini, Wesley, Villa Julie and Misericordia.
CC jumped all over Shenandoah in the first 30 minutes of play; they scored the game's first nine goals and led 14-1 at halftime. Senior Joe Gorczyca (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./South) broke the Cavs beginning of the game run with an unassisted tally 23 seconds into the second quarter.
Unfortunately for the Hornets, Cabrini went on another 9-0 run before James Hernandez (Blue Ridge Summit, Pa./HCC) scored for the visitors with 8:20 to play.
Matt Campbell led 13 Cavaliers in the scoring column with three goals and one assist while Rory Friel had two goals and two assists.
