Tana Bartek has been named first team All-USA South in softball selections announced Wednesday by the conference office.
Bartek was named as a utility player, a position reserved for players who have not played any position at least 50 percent of the time.
In 25 games as a first baseman, third baseman and pitcher, Bartek is hitting a team best .378 with 28 hits in 74 at-bats. She has a second best on the team 10 extra-base hits and her nine runs batted in is good for tied for third on team.
In the pitching circle, Bartek has pitched a team high 65.0 innings with 64 strikeouts and two wins in 12 appearances. She had both of her wins last week and threw a one-hitter in a 7-0 win over Sweet Briar on Saturday afternoon.
Bartek is the Hornets first first-team selection since Ellie Tanner was selected in 2000.
