WASHINGTON, D.C. - The second quarter once again proved to the Shenandoah University men's lacrosse teams downfall - Tuesday afternoon it was Catholic University that did the damage in a 17-9 non-league victory.
Shenandoah (2-5) led 3-2 after the first 15 minutes of play only to see CUA (7-4) score six of seven goals in the second. The Cardinals scored the seven goals on just 12 shots and doubled up the Hornets in groundballs, 12-6.
Any thoughts of an SU comeback were dashed as CUA took a 13-7 lead into the fourth by outscoring Shenandoah 5-3 in the third.
SophomoreÂ
Martin Carlson led the visitors with five points on two goals and three assists whileÂ
Stephen Mayor had three goals and one assist.
