Men's Lacrosse Wins Second PAC Contest

READING, Pa. - Shenandoah University used a six-goal run to start the second half Saturday afternoon to key an 11-5 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference victory over host Alvernia College.

Leading 4-3 after Alvernia (0-7, 0-3 PAC) answered a Martin Carlsongoal with a tally nine seconds later, Shenandoah (3-5, 2-1 PAC) preceded to reel off the next six goals to take a 9-2 lead with 3:38 remaining in the contest.

The Crusaders would score twice in the next 1:39 to bring it to 10-5, but Theodore Rogers scored an unassisted goal with 16 seconds left to provide the final margin.

Carlson led all scorers with three goals and two assists while Rogers, Paul Evancoe and Justin Ratcliff all had two goals.

SU keepers John Schaefer and Mark Verrilli each played 30 minutes with Schaefer making seven saves in the first half and Verrilli six in the second.
