ASHLAND, Va. - Shenandoah University struggled defensively in a doubleheader softball loss at Randolph-Macon College Saturday afternoon.
Macon earned the sweep with a 15-6 win in game two after winning game one 7-5. Shenandoah (2-2) allowed the Yellow Jackets (5-1) 10 unearned runs in the nightcap.
The Hornets had a 2-0 lead in the opener after scoring two runs on two hits in the second. FreshmanÂ

R-MC broke the game open with three runs in the third and four more in the fourth. Beuerle finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI whileÂ
Ashley Ballentine drove in a pair of runs with a sixth inning single.
Six errors in game two led to the 10 unearned runs; all seven of the hosts runs in the fifth came after SU opened the frame with three errors on its first four chances.
