MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University was held to just one total run in dropping a non-league softball doubleheader at Division II Chowan College Sunday afternoon.

Chowan (5-4) was a 6-0 winner in game one before winning game two 10-1. The second game was halted after five innings due to the NCAA mercy rule.

Shenandoah (2-4) scored its only run of the afternoon in the first inning of game two when sophomore Sheryl Wilson led off with a single to center, moved to second on Jessica Bollinger's single and scored when Tana Bartek doubled to left.

Wilson led the Hornets offensively on the day - in addition to her hit in game two, she was 3-for-4 in game one.

Freshmen Mandy Reed and Catherine Beuerle also had two hits on the afternoon with Beuerle had a double in the nightcap.
