WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Eastern Mennonite University shook off a game two loss to down host Shenandoah University 3-1 in non-league women's volleyball Wednesday night.
EMU (3-6) was a 30-26 game one winner but saw Shenandoah (3-2) even the match with 30-20 game two victory. Coach Sarah Pelster's Hornets then led game three 28-25 and was serving for the match at 29-28 and 30-29, but saw the Royals get a pair of kills to stave off defeat.
Lisa Berry then served the final two points of the contest to give Eastern Mennonite a commanding two games to one advantage.
EMU opened game four by scoring the game's first three points and did not trail after Kristina Zaccaria scored the second of five straight points from the service line at 16-15.
Trailing by as many as six points, Shenandoah rallied to tie it at 29-29, but Eastern Mennonite clinched the match on a SU attack error and a Jamie Morgan service ace.

Jennifer Thompson had a game-high 18 kills for the Hornets while classmateÂ
Michelle Chandler added 16. The two women also chipped in 17 and 20 assists, respectively.
Megan Good had 16 kills, Berry 13 and Dana Sprowl 12 for the Royals. Good also had a match-high seven total blocks.
