GREENSBORO, N.C. - Host Greensboro College swept a USA South
Conference softball doubleheader Saturday afternoon by winning a
pair of 2-0 contests.
In the opener, GC (18-12-1, 10-4 USA South) scored single runs
in the third and sixth innings before getting all of the offense it
would need in the second inning of the nightcap.
Shenandoah (12-11-1, 4-6) was held to three hits in game two
after having eight in the opener.
Freshman Amanda Litwin
(6-5) took the game two loss. She allowed two runs on six hits and
two walks in 5.0 innings. Litwin struck out four before turning it
over to classmate Ashley
Stegemiller for the sixth.
Junior Renoula
Jones had a combined three hits in the two games,
including a 2 for 3 performance in game one.
Sophomore Shatora Lane matched
Jones' output in the opener.
Brooke
Over (6-6) was the game one loser giving up two runs (one
earned) on eight hits. She struck out four and pitched a complete
game.
SU is back in action on Monday with a USA South Conference
doubleheader against Ferrum.
