WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University took the top two matches
of the day, but it was not enough in a 7-2 USA South women's tennis
loss to Christopher Newport.
Sophomore Briana
Malley 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) winner for the Hornets (6-7, 3-5 USA
South) at No. 1 singles after combining with Denise Myrick to
win 9-7 in the top double match.
Unfortunately for SU, Christopher Newport (16-1, 7-1) swept the
remaining matches in straight sets to clinch the victory.
The closest of the remaining matches came at No. 5 singles where
Candice
Sullivan fell 6-4, 6-2.
Shenandoah is back in action Saturday at home in its USA South
finale against Averett.
