SALEM, Va. – Host Roanoke College kept Shenandoah University from earning its first-ever ODAC tennis victories with a pair of wins Friday afternoon.

The Roanoke women Roanoke (4-2, 3-0 ODAC) were 9-0 winners over the SU (3-4, 0-4) women while the Maroon men (5-2, 2-1) took an 8-1 decision.

The Shenandoah men fell to 2-4, 0-3 with the loss.

Dustan DeMello and Will Leach won the lone match of the day for the Hornets. The duo combined to win 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.

In the women's match, RC won all nine matches in straight sets over the Hornets (3-4, 0-4).

Freshman Amber Lake was involved in the two closest matches for Shenandoah. She combined with Rachel Gross to fall 8-5 at No. 3 doubles before dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles.

Both teams complete this spring break trip tomorrow at Guilford.
