STAUNTON, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its third straight win Thursday afternoon with a 7-2 non-league victory over former USA South Conference foe Mary Baldwin.
Shenandoah (6-7) took a 2-1 lead after doubles with 8-4 and 8-0 wins at Nos. 1 and 3, respectively.
The Hornets then won the five singles matches to win going away over the Squirrels (1-14).
Freshman Amy Rapp, a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 3 singles, clinched the victory for SU.
Shannon Allin was a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 winner at No. 1, Molly Barb won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, Rachel Gross 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 and Amber Lake 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 to round out the singles victors.
Allin and Barb were the No. 1 doubles tandem while Lake and Gross won at No. 3.
Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday at Emory & Henry.
