BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its third straight victory with a 8-1 non-conference win at Southern Virginia Wednesday afternoon.
Shenandoah (4-1) opened with a pair of 8-1 victories in Nos. 1 and 3 doubles before taking out the Knights (2-7) with a sweep of the singles matches.
Sophomore Molly Barb had the match-clinching victory with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Lauren Morrison at No. 1 singles.
Barb had opened the day by combining with Amy Rapp to win that 8-1 decision at No. 1 doubles.
Caitlin Tilton and Cierra Neidermeyer had the victory at No. 3 doubles with Neidermeyer also winning in straight sets at No. 6 singles.
Rapp, Rachel Gross and Amber Lake won in straight sets at Nos. 2 through 4 singles, respectively, before Alayna McEathron rebounded from a 6-3 loss in her opening set to win 6-2, 1-0 (10-0) at No. 5.
SU is back in action on Saturday by taking on Guilford in an ODAC doubleheader match with the men.
