WINCHESTER, Va. - Host Shenandoah University saw its five-match women's tennis winning streak end Saturday night in a 5-0 ODAC loss to Bridgewater College.
Forced to the indoor courts at Winchester Country Club due to the extensive rainstorm, Shenandoah (6-2, 2-2 ODAC) saw the Eagles (7-2, 4-1) jump out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles.
BC lost just five games (and only a combined two at Nos. 1 and 2) in taking those three matches.
Amy Rapp and Caitlin Tilton, at No. 3, had the closest doubles match, losing 8-4 to Holly Knupp and Whitney Cash.
The Eagles then clinched the victory with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles.
The remaining matches, at Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 6, were unfinished.
Shenandoah is returns to the courts with a non-league match at McDaniel on Monday.
