WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Randolph-Macon prevented Shenandoah University from earning its 11th women's tennis win of the season with a 7-2 ODAC victory over the Hornets Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (11-5, 6-2 ODAC) won all three doubles matches and the middle four singles contests to down the Hornets (10-4, 5-4).
Sophomores Molly Barb and Caitlin Tilton were the hosts' victors.
Barb won in a walkover over Angelina Sportelli at No. 1 singles after taking the first set 6-4. The two women were tied at 1-1 in the second when Sportelli had to retire.
At No. 6, Tilton took out Caty-Betz Holcomb 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-3).
Macon clinched the match with a win at No. 2 singles.
Shenandoah hosts Roanoke on Sunday in another ODAC contest.
