WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its fourth straight victory Wednesday afternoon with a 6-3 non-league victory over Southern Virginia.
Shenandoah (6-1) started out by taking two of the three doubles matches before winning four of the top five singles contests over SVU (2-4).
Junior Molly Barb and senior Shannon Allin were double winners for the Hornets, combining to win 8-3 at the top doubles spot before Barb won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Allin 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2.
Barb's win at No. 1 clinched the match.
Amy Rapp and Caitlin Tilton were also double winners. They had an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles prior to Rapp winning 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) at No. 4 and Tilton at love at No. 5.
The women take to the road Saturday for a 1 p.m. ODAC match at Roanoke.
