Box Score 2 SALEM, Va. – Host Roanoke College swept an ODAC softball doubleheader from Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon, winning 1-0 and 10-6.
Shenandoah (7-19, 5-11 ODAC) held Roanoke (16-10, 11-3) to just three hits in game one before the Maroons had 12 hits in the game two victory.
SU left six runners on base in the opener, including three in scoring position.
Sophomore Lindsay Corbin (1-8) struck out five and walked two in the complete game performance.
Freshman Cassie Green had all three of the game one hits for the Hornets.
Roanoke scored one run in the first inning of the nightcap before breaking matters open with a six-run second off of game two starter Lisa Mitro (4-6).
Kimberly Brady was 3 for 4 and Karli Rorabaugh 2 for 3 to lead the offense.
Rorabaugh also had three RBI – two on a single to right center in the fourth and one on a single up the middle in the sixth.
SU returns home to host Sweet Briar for the final time tomorrow afternoon in a 1 p.m. ODAC doubleheader. These games are also the Hornets breast cancer awareness contests.
