SWEET BRIAR, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its third ODAC win of the season Wednesday afternoon with a 6-3 victory at Sweet Briar.
Shenandoah (8-3, 3-3 ODAC) swept the doubles to put itself in a strong position only to see Sweet Briar (4-10, 1-6) rally with wins in the top three singles matches.
Now tied at 3-3, the Hornets swept the bottom three singles matches to secure the victory.
Caitlin Tilton, with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5, put SU one point from victory before Amy Rapp completed the win with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Anna Colvin at No. 5.
Amber Lake, thanks to a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6, provided the Hornets final point of the afternoon.
Rapp and Tilton started off their day with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles with Lake combined with Jeannella Williams to win 8-3 at No. 2.
Molly Barb and Shannon Allin, playing No. 1, were 8-2 winners.
Shenandoah returns home tomorrow for a 4 p.m. non-league match against Mary Baldwin.
