WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its third straight victory by downing Mary Baldwin in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon.
Shenandoah (9-3) swept the Squirrels (2-10) in the doubles before winning all six singles matches in straight sets.
The Hornets dropped just three games in doubles and seven in singles in earning their third shutout of the season.
Amy Rapp had the match-clinching win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Sakurako Ishii at No. 4 singles.
Rapp had previously combined with Caitlin Tilton to win 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Molly Barb won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Shannon Allin 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, Tilton 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Amber Lake 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
Jeannella Williams, who paired with Lake to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles, rounded out the sweep with an 8-0 win at No. 3 singles.
Barb and Allin had the final doubles victory, downing Alexandra Cincinnati and Alayah Austin 8-3 in the top match.
Shenandoah continues this homestand on Saturday with a Senior Day match against Lynchburg. Allin will be honored prior to the start of that doubleheader match with the SU men.
