OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its second victory of the 2016 season Sunday afternoon with a 6-3 non-league win at Stevenson.
After Stevenson (0-3) took a 2-1 lead with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, Shenandoah (2-0) rallied by winning all but No. 5 singles.
Caitlin Tilton had the match-clinching win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jennifer Garcia at No. 4.
Tilton was a double winner on the day as she and Molly Barb had a walkover victory at No. 1 doubles due to an injury.
Barb, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ty-Chelle Williams at No. 1 singles, brought the match back to even.
Amy Rapp's 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 gave the Hornets the lead for good before Kelsey Nicely set up Tilton to clinch by winning 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3.
Melodie Madison had a pro-set win at No. 6 to close out the match.
Shenandoah is back in action on Thursday with a non-league home match versus Ferrum.
