LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 16 Washington and Lee University continued its strong women's tennis season with a 9-0 ODAC victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
Washington and Lee (14-2, 9-0 ODAC) dropped just two games in sweeping the Hornets (3-3, 1-2).
Shenandoah got one win at No. 1 singles, where Morgan Fuqua and Melodie Madison fell 8-1 to Mary Hampton McNeal and Lily Horsley, and the other at No. 4 singles.
In that No. 4 singles match, Emma Crue lost 6-0, 6-1 at Anna Kerynin.
The Generals won the remaining two doubles matches and five singles contests at love.
The Hornets return home on Friday for a 3 p.m. non-league home match versus Stevenson.
