WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team completed its season Saturday with a 7-2 ODAC victory over Virginia Wesleyan.
Shenandoah (4-11, 2-9 ODAC) took a 2-1 lead following the doubles point and then clinched with wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 5 singles.
Denise Vollmer had the match-clinching win, taking out Abby Horgan 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.
Morgan Fuqua, Melodie Madison and Alyssa White were all double winners for the Hornets.
Fuqua and Madison won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles before Fuqua was a 6-4, 6-3 victor at No. 1 singles.
Madison got her singles win at No. 3, defeating Jacklyn Cheely 6-3, 6-2.
Senior Audrea Wright had the final singles win, defeating Kerstin Holman 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Shenandoah will announce its 2017-18 schedule in July.
