EMORY, Va. - Host Emory and Henry rebounded from losses in the top singles and doubles matches to down Shenandoah 7-2 in ODAC women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
Morgan Fuqua and Melodie Madison were 9-7 winners at No. 1 doubles before Fuqua finished off her day with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lauren Riner at No. 1 singles, but it was not enough for SU (3-6, 1-5).
E&H (6-8, 3-3) rebounded to win the remaining two doubles and five singles matches to earn the victory.
Alyssa White and Emma Crue had a close match at No. 2 doubles, falling 8-6, while Madison extended her No. 3 singles match to three sets with a 6-4 win in the second. Vanna Summer emerged victorious with a 6-4 win in the third set. She had also won the first at love.
Denise Vollmer also had a three-set match in singles, falling 6-2, 1-6, 1-6 at No. 5 to Katie Meade.
Shenandoah continues this road trip with a 1 p.m. ODAC match Sunday at Roanoke.
