Women's Tennis Shuts Out Quakers

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its second ODAC victory of the season Friday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Guilford.

Shenandoah (4-10, 2-8 ODAC) snapped a seven-match losing streak with the win over the Quakers (1-13, 0-10).

The Hornets received wins at 5, 5 and 2 in doubles before sweeping the singles in straight sets.

Melodie Madison had the match clinching victory, winning 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Elizabeth Pardo, who combined with Madison in that 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles, won at love at No. 6 singles.

Pardo, Madison, Alyssa White, Madison Hansen, Emma Crue and Madison Rogers all were double winners.

The women look to clinch a spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament tomorrow with a 2 p.m. match at Hollins.
