WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University makes its first appearance in the ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament semi-finals in six years Friday with its 5 p.m. game at fourth-seeded Lynchburg.

No. 8 Shenandoah (11-6-3) makes this semi-final appearance after advancing past top-seeded Bridgewater on Tuesday afternoon. The Hornets and Eagles tied, 1-1, after 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime before SU converted on all five of its penalty kicks and got one save from goalkeeper

The PK shootout was the third the Hornets have experienced in ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. In 2018, Randolph-Macon advanced past SU, 4-3, while Shenandoah outscored Roanoke, 4-2, in the 2016 quarters.

Fourth-seeded Lynchburg (10-3-6), defeated Randolph-Macon, 3-0, Tuesday afternoon in the quarterfinals. Lynchburg finished 7-1-2 in league play this year, falling only to top-seeded Bridgewater.

As a result of the league's unbalanced schedule, the two sets of ODAC Hornets did not meet in the 2022 regular season.

HISTORY
Friday's game is the 14
th meeting with Lynchburg since 2010 and the fourth in ODAC Tournament play. The two sets of ODAC Hornets met in the 2012, 2013, and 2017 with Lynchburg winning all three of those meetings and the southern Hornets own an 11-1-1 record in the overall series. The last ODAC Tournament matchup, on Nov. 1, 2017, was a 3-2 victory in which Lynchburg scored the final two goals of the contest.

Shenandoah comes into the semi-finals averaging a third-best-in-ODAC 3.40 goals per game with Lynchburg fifth at 2.58.

Defensively, Lynchburg has the top mark in the league - .32 goals allowed per game – with SU seventh at 1.53 per outing.

Elizabeth McGee leads Shenandoah in scoring with 11 goals and three assists for 25 points with
Chandler Gallant adding 10 goals and one assist for 21 points. McGee's 11
th goal of the year came on Tuesday and knotted that quarterfinal round game versus Bridgewater at 1-1.

Karissa Dominick has played just over 1200 minutes with 47 saves and a 1.34 goals against average.

Senior Megan Dee leads Lynchburg in scoring with six goals and five assists for 17 points. Sophomore Sydney Dombrovskis also has six goals while adding an additional three assists for 15 points.

Jade Lecklider has played the vast majority of Lynchburg's minutes in goal, 1433 of 1710, and has a .38 goals against average, 48 saves, and seven shutouts in that span.

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at the highest remaining seed. No. 2 Washington & Lee hosts No. 3 Virginia Wesleyan on the other side of the bracket.
