Women's Soccer Earns Four All-ODAC Players

FOREST, Va. - Four Shenandoah University women's soccer players were named All-ODAC for the 2025 season, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

McKenna Newcome highlights the awards for the Hornets with first-team honors, while Lauren Duffy and Kaitlyn Wahl are on the second-team as midfielders, and Emily Soos rounds out the selections on the third-team.

Newcome led the Hornets in goals (14), assists (8), and points (36). The sophomore scored nine goals in conference play, which was tied for second in the ODAC. Newcome also scored in the two tournament games for the Hornets, ending her season on a nine-game goal streak. The forward is the first Hornet since Emily Yergin in 2019 to earn first-team honors.

Duffy started in 20 games this season for the Hornets, scoring five goals and adding a pair of assists. Four of her goals and both assists came in ODAC games, with multi-point games versus Randolph and Averett. In nine conference games, Duffy had 18 shots and a game-winning goal.

Wahl ended the season with four goals and three assists, with one each coming in ODAC games. The midfielder collected 19 shots, 11 on goal, in her nine ODAC starts. The junior had a career-high in assists and matched her career-high in goals this season.

Soos, a defender, played and started in seven ODAC games, with 14 starts overall. The sophomore helped the Hornets hold ODAC opponents scoreless in five conference games, with opponents only scoring nine times in conference play. Soos played 371 minutes in her seven conference games and had one shot.

Shenandoah earned the three-seed in the ODAC tournament, its highest ranking since 2016. The team rounded out the season with 11 wins and an 8-2 record in the ODAC.

The Hornets now have 46 All-ODAC selections all-time and 114 all-conference honorees in team history.
