RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team used a three-goal fourth quarter to key an 11-9 non-league women's lacrosse victory over Meredith College Saturday afternoon.

Playing through cold and rainy conditions, the Hornets (3-2) rallied to win by scoring the final three goals of the contest.

Trailing for the first time since Meredith (2-2) scored the initial goal of the contest,
Gabriella Raspanti tied the contest a 9-9 off of a
Reilly Cisar assist with 12:31 to play.

Less than two minutes later, Cisar tallied what proved to be the game-winner with an unassisted goal at 10:35.

At 7:14, she set up
Emma Stiffler with an insurance goal to give SU the two-goal advantage.

Ashley MacFarlane had to make just one save following Stiffler's goal to preserve the victory. The SU defense also caused one turnover during this span.

The three-goal rally capped a game in which the two teams were never separated by more than two goals and were tied at 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 7-7, and 8-8 before a two-goal Meredith run around the fourth quarter break gave the Avenging Angels the 9-8 lead.

That lead lasted only 38 seconds before Raspanti knotted the game for the eighth and final time.

SU outshot its hosts, 29-22, and had a 19-17 edge in groundballs. Meredith won 12 of 23 draws.

MacFarlane made eight saves for the Hornets.
