Baseball Finishes Off Quakers

Hornets Win, 14-6

GREENSBORO, N.C. – No. 18 Shenandoah University completed its first ODAC baseball sweep of the season Monday with a 14-6 victory over Guilford College.

Shenandoah (12-4, 2-1 ODAC) jumped all over the Quakers (3-8, 0-2) for five runs in the first, but needed two runs in the eighth and six in the ninth to comfortably dispatch the Quakers.

IN BRIEF
One day after banging out 18 hits in the win, the Hornets had 19 hits in completing the sweep. Kooper Anderson, Henry Delavergne, Kyle Lisa, and Pearce Bucher, the Nos. 2 through 5 hitters in the Shenandoah lineup, all had three hits.

Delavergne, who was named ODAC Player of the Week on Monday for the second time in three weeks, also drove in four runs.

Delavergne plated the first two runs of the game with a two-run dinger in the top of the first.

Blaine Hansen and Sam Horn, hitting seventh and eighth in the lineup, respectively, also had three hits each with Horn driving in three runs. Horn's first RBI, on a single through the right side in the eighth, was the game-winner. He also had a two-run single in the ninth.
