WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 16 Shenandoah University earned its third win in as many days Tuesday with a 10-2 non-league victory over Nichols College.
Shenandoah (13-4) sandwiched two-run innings in the second and fourth around a four-run third to push past the Bison (1-6).

Senior
Calvin Pastel (2-0) was outstanding, tossing eight innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out five. The only run he allowed came via a solo home run in the fifth.
The righty needed just 86 pitches to complete his eight innings, retired the Bison in order in the first, second, third, and seventh innings and had inning-ending double plays in the fourth and eighth
Shenandoah closed out the scoring with two runs in the seventh.
Frankie Ritter led the offense with a 4-for-5 day that included two doubles and a pair of runs batted in.
Ryan Clawson had three hits and both
Kooper Anderson and
Logan Wood two.
Clawson, Wood, and
Kyle Lisa all had two RBI.
Brendan Duffy (0-3) took the loss for Nichols. He gave up five runs on seven hits and one walk in 2 2/3 innings. The Bison used five pitchers on the day.

Shenandoah takes to the road this weekend for three-games at Salisbury University. The Hornets opening opponent is York (Pa.). SU and the Spartans meet at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.
