SALISBURY, Md. – No. 16 Shenandoah University earned its second victory of the week Saturday with an 11-9 non-league win over Alfred (N.Y.) State.
Shenandoah (14-5) jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the Pioneers (2-14) in the first-ever meeting between the two schools before Alfred got back into it with one run in the sixth and seven in the seventh.

Frankie Ritter helped SU out to that 10-0 lead with a two-run home run in the third and a two-run double in the fifth, respectively.
Shenandoah scored four runs in the second, two in the third, and four in the fifth to take that commanding lead.
After the two teams each scored a run in the sixth, ASC put up the seven-spot in the seventh on five hits off of four SU pitchers. Six of the runs were scored with two outs.
Jacob Faivre tossed the initial 6 2/3 to earn his fourth win of the spring. Faivre (4-0) allowed seven runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five.
Senior
Matt House got the final five outs of the game to post his sixth save. He gave up a run on two hits.
Ryan Clawson led the offense with four hits in five at-bats with Ritter, Horn,
Henry Delavergne, and
Kyle Lisa all getting two hits each.
