WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 14 Shenandoah University returned to its winning ways Tuesday afternoon with a 13-4 ODAC victory over Bridgewater College.
Shenandoah (17-6-1, 4-2-1 ODAC) scored at least one run in every inning except the sixth and eighth on its way to the win over the Eagles (16-7, 4-2).

The Hornets pounded out 14 hits off of eight BC pitchers while SU hurler
Calvin Pastel had another solid outing on the mound.
Pastel (3-0) tossed the initial seven innings, throwing 52 strikes in his 82-pitch outing while scattering three hits and striking out three. He had nine groundouts and eight flyouts on balls put into play and left-handed batters were 0-for-6 against him on the day.
Gavin Horning led that 14-hit attack with a 4-for-5 afternoon that included two runs scored.
Kyle Lisa was 3-for-5 with two RBI and eight of the nine SU starters hit safely in the game.
Nine of the Shenandoah runs were unearned as Bridgewater committed seven errors. The Eagles had at least one error in each frame save the fourth, sixth, and eighth.
Waring Garber (0-3), the first of those eight pitchers, was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings. No BC pitcher lasted more than two innings.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah hosts Roanoke Saturday in a 1 p.m. ODAC doubleheader. The university is also hosting a ribbon cutting event starting at 10 a.m. for the renovated fields in Jim Barnett Park.
