Women's Lax Tops Macon

Stiffler's Nine Points Key 19-13 Victory

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team earned its eighth victory of the season Wednesday night with a 19-13 ODAC home victory over Randolph-Macon.

Shenandoah (8-4, 3-1 ODAC) reeled off a five-goal run over the start of the second quarter to pull away from the Yellow Jackets (5-7, 2-2).

IN BRIEF
Trailing 3-2 in the waning moments of the first, Reilly Cisar set up Ainsley Buckner to knot the game at 3-3 and begin the five-goal run.

Nearly four minutes into the second, Cisar put on top to stay by finishing off a feed from Emma Stiffler. Stiffler then scored back-to-back at 11:08 and 10:36 before Amy Bell completed the run at 8:02 off of another Stiffler assist.

Thanks to a Buckner-to-Cisar goal at 25 seconds, Shenandoah took a 10-7 lead into the halftime break.

Macon would cut the deficit to two goals on three occasions early in the third before another SU run, this one 4-0, put the hosts in total control with a 16-10 lead by 13:35 mark of the fourth.

R-MC would get no closer than four goals the rest of the way.

StIffler had a game-high nine points on five goals and four assists with Emily Onorato adding three goals and two assists and Cisar four goals and one assist.
